Lost Property is an exclusive sneaker retailer, with both an established online store and a physical shop space in a prime Cape Town location. Founded by prominent South African sneakerhead, Zaid Osman, the brand exists to support and grow local sneaker culture by stocking a range of brands and products not readily available elsewhere in the country, as well as having an on-the-ground presence working to build the culture. It was this passion that saw Zaid launch Lost Property from his parent’s garage some 5 years ago - with boxes of sneakers piled to the roof of the house.
“Lost Property was, and still is, a place where people would order their ‘Lost Property’ - a pair of sneakers they remembered from their childhood, or saw on TV, but never had the means of accessing.” Says Zaid.
But more than simply acting as a supply to demand, Lost Property is committed to the sneaker culture and lifestyle at large, and always with a proudly local focus. Through a tight relationships with influencers, Lost Property has curated in-store talks with the likes of Jack Parrow, and Stilo Magolide, launched the Lost Property clothing range, and most recently founded Sneaker Exchange - an event where people can Buy, Sell, and Trade sneakers.
Run by sneakerheads, for sneakerheads, the vision for Lost Property is to see the South African sneaker community grow and develop, always staying true to its roots and commitments.
